Oscar Lee Cox, Sr. & Oscar Cox, Jr.

Oscar Lee Cox, Sr. was born in Corsicana, Texas in 1888. He married Earline Wood on 15 May 1910 in Chico, Texas. Earline was born in Chico, Texas in 1893. The couple lived on a rented farm three miles northeast of Chico, Texas. Oscar Lee worked as a meat cutter (butcher) in a local meat market. Their son, Oscar Jr. was born in 1918.

Right after the birth of Oscar Jr. the family moved to Bridgeport, Texas. Oscar Lee worked as a meat cutter in the W.A. Sinsabaugh meat market. Later on Oscar Lee purchased the W.A. Brown Grocery.
